Red wine: Although this isn’t exactly a ‘food,’ it is one of our favourites! Did you know that, thanks to the grapes, your glass of red wine is actually full of antioxidants? The particular sun protective antioxidants found in red wine are called ‘proanthocyanidins,’ and have been shown to prevent sunburn.
Sweet potato: It just so happens that not only sweet potato but olive oil also helps defend your skin against UV rays. This means that putting some delicious sweet potato chips with olive oil in the oven is actually good for you!
- Watermelon: Yep – one of our favourite summer fruits is also a summer saviour! Thanks to ‘lycopene’ (also found in tomatoes in lower doses), watermelon is a great choice for hydration and protection.
