Not all fabric was created equal! The Skin Cancer Foundation requires a UPF of 30 for their seal of approval – Our hats have a rating of UPF50+, giving you maximum protection.
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, and applies to fabrics. This is different to SPF (Sun Protection Factor) that applies to sun screens and other topical products, like makeup.
Our hats are composed of tightly woven materials that won't let any sun in. The sheerer, more stretched or loosely woven a material is, the more UV rays they're letting in.
With Canopy Bay hats, you'll have piece of mind knowing that you have maximum sun protection.
